WILLIAMS, David Thomas
David Thomas Williams, 77, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, (September 25, 2013). He resided on Brookside Lane, Mansfield Center, CT. David was born to the late Lawrence DeMore Williams and Rose Keyes Williams, August 2, 1936 in New Haven, CT. David graduated from West Haven High School. He served in the US Army in the 1950s. After serving David received a BA in History from the University of Connecticut in 1964. He completed his Masters at Central CT State University. He married Ann Molday in 1964 and they lived together in Glastonbury before moving to Mansfield Center. Dave was a high school Spanish teacher in Glastonbury and Tolland High School systems and was passionate about making a difference in the lives of his students. Dave later worked for Package Machinery in Longmeadow, MA as a service engineer where he repaired injection molding machinery in the US and Latin America. Afterward, he opened his own business repairing these machines throughout New England. Dave loved traveling to Spanish speaking countries, playing tennis, kayaking and restoring old cars. David is survived by his daughter Dawn Leiper of Manchester; son Mark Williams of Stamford, CT; his brother Lawrence DeMore Williams of Plymouth, MI; and his sister, Karen Williams of Venice, FL. David was a caring, intelligent, and generous man. He will be remembered by his unconditional kindness to everyone he met. David was greatly loved, and will be deeply missed by all who remembered him.
