BROWN-MARTOCCHIO, Denise M.
Denise M. Brown-Martocchio, 57, of Enfield, loving wife of James Martocchio, passed away on Sunday (July 22, 2013), with her husband, family and close friends by her side. Denise was born December 24, 1955, in Hartford, the daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret (Seegers) Malone. She was a graduate of Westfield State College where she received her BA in Social Work; a career in which she could assist countless people. Denise was a very empathetic person, a hard worker, a wonderful mother and had a very kind soul. She was a great listener and an advocate for the sick and elderly. Very proud of her Irish heritage, she enjoyed listening to Celtic music and found comfort listening to Josh Grobin. In addition to her husband, James she is also survived by a son Mark Brown of VT.
Per Denise's wishes, all services will be private. Donations in Denise's memory may be made to National Scoliosis Foundation (NSF), 5 Cabot Place, Ste 5, Stoughton, MA, 02072. Jim, I've known you since junior high school, and when I saw you last Fall after 30 years it brought back many warm memories. I told you that my family had just lost my younger sister Michelle, and my dad just six weeks later. You gave me a big hug, and told me you had prayers for them. It was comforting for me to hear kind words from a man who I shared so many youthful memories. Later that night, my cousin Roger Jones let me know that your wife was ill; yet you selflessly spent our entire conversation on me and on my family. You were then going through what my family had gone through, yet you did not wish to burden me with your troubles. You were a great kid, who grew to be a great man and a loyal husband. I didn't meet Denise, but in later chats you openned up and shared with me that she was a good woman with a warm heart. My best to you, her family, and to your family. Paul Bouchard

James, I am at a loss for words. It breaks my heart to hear of Denise's passing. She was a wonderful person. I'll never forget the times we shared together just talking and laughing. She was beautiful and kind. And she loved you to death! Seeing you two together was so touching. She fought hard for very long and so did you but she is finally in a better place and at rest. May your memories of her bring you peace. Thinking of you and your family.
