MASOTTI, Dominick
Dominick Masotti, 82, of Southington, widower of Alice (Martel) Masotti, died on Tuesday (July 23, 2013) at home surrounded by his family. Dominick was born March 24, 1931 in Bristol and was one of six boys of the late Michael and Anna (Ferro) Masotti. He lived most of his life in Bristol where he attended Bristol schools. He served in the United States Navy and was a member of St. Matthew Church, Bristol. A graduate of Porter School of Tool Design, he was the president and owner of J & M Special Tool. He was a devoted husband and father and loved spending summers at his home in East Beach, RI, where he enjoyed his favorite pastimes of fishing, clamming, and boating. Dom was a passionate fan of the Yankees and Giants. Dom is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: James and Angela Masotti of South Glastonbury; two daughters and sons-in-law: Ann Marie and Jonathan Spinelli of Southington and Jill and Alan Godbout of Bristol; a daughter-in-law: Maura Masotti of Marlborough; three brothers: Vito, Joseph, and Richard Masotti, all of Bristol; nine grandchildren: Laura Duquette, Brian Masotti, Joseph Spinelli, Katie Spinelli, Allison McKay, Matthew Godbout, James Godbout, Ryan Masotti, and Garrett Masotti; six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, John Masotti, a grandson, Andrew Godbout, and two brothers: Michael and Robert Masotti.
Funeral services will be held on Friday (July 26, 2013) at 9 a.m. from Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol to St. Matthew Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial, with military honors, will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday (July 25, 2013) between 5 and 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to Mary's Place, 6 Poquonock Ave., Windsor, CT 06095.
