POTVIN, Donald J.
Donald J. Potvin, 89, of Bristol, husband of Pauline (Paradis) Potvin, died on Tuesday (June 4, 2013) at Bristol Hospital. Donald was born April 2, 1924 in Bristol and was one of the five children of Adelard J. and Martha Lucille (Gregory) Potvin. A lifelong Bristol resident, he was a United States Army Veteran of WWII, having served with the 7th Armored Division in Europe, and was a communicant of St. Ann Church, Bristol, where he helped care for the grounds. Donald was employed at the former E. Ingraham Company, and then Raymond Engineering in Middletown for 27 years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed golf, tending to his yard, and fixing clocks part time. In addition to his wife of 65 years, Donald is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: John and Sandra Potvin of Farmington; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday (June 7, 2013) at 10 a.m., at St. Ann Church, 215 West Street, Bristol. Burial, with military honors, will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, on Friday from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. Ann Church Memorial Fund, 180 Laurel St., Bristol, CT 06010.
