Russell and Rick - I just learned of your mom's passing today. I have many fond memories of her from the Hilltop Drive days. She was a beautiful and intelligent woman who was looked up to by the whole neighborhood. I hope your wonderful memories will help bring you peace.

So sorry to learn of DA's passing. She was my mentor when I joined LDA as a parent advocate. I learned so much from her. She was always so invested in each and every child with learning differences and helped them obtain the education to help them be the best they could be. My sympathies to everyone in her family.

I haven't seen DA since 1994 when I worked at LDA, but she was a spitfire when it came to helping kids with disabilities and reading problems (and their parents). She was a great woman, if "great" means that she changed many lives for the better. She was also a good woman.

Doris Anne will be missed, she was a wonderful person who helped teach me to advocate for my son. Had it not been for her, my son would not have had the appropriate educational program that he received. It was her dedication and passion the lead me to follow in her foot steps and advocate for children as well. Everyone at SpEdConnecticut, Inc. (formerly LDA of CT) will miss her dearly. our prayers go out to her family.

Deepest condolences on the loss of this exceptional woman. I met Doris through the Learning Disabilities Association during the 1990s. She was so smart, strong, and a wonderful advocate for children. She'll always be remembered and missed. She made a difference in this world. So sorry!
