Edith SHEPARD Obituary





SHEPARD, Edith Ahl

Edith Ahl Shepard, 90, a 50 year resident of Farmington passed away on November 1, 2013. She was happily married to her husband Robert for over 60 years. They both loved all children and were thrilled to have two daughters of their own. To know Edith was to love Edith. She was extremely appreciative, compassionate, generous, and full of fun. She always considered herself to be one of the luckiest women in the world. Edith was an amazing Wife and Mother who loved spending time with her family. She was an exceptional cook and hostess and constantly invited people over to brighten their days. She also loved making many beautiful quilts which she generously gave to family and friends. Edith happily worked most of her life using a variety of skills including cafeteria management and bookkeeping. She is survived by her loving daughters Elizabeth (Shepard) Cook of Orlando, FL and Marcie Shepard of Farmington; three grandchildren, Jennifer and husband Jeff Mason of North Berwick, ME, Robert Cook of South Windsor, and James and wife Richa Cook of Windermere, FL; and her very special great-granddaughter, Autumn Rose.
A celebration of Edith's life will be held Saturday, November 16 at 11 a.m. in The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St, Rt. 4, Unionville. The family would like to invite friends to arrive at 10:45a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2075 Silas Deane Highway, Suite 100, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
