GLOFKA, Edward "Eddie" John III
Edward "Eddie" John Glofka, III, 21, of Windsor passed away Friday, (January 4, 2013), in his sleep, like an angel. Eddie was born in Hartford, son of loving parents, Edward J. Glofka, Jr. and Paula (Rizzo) Glofka. He was athletic and participated in Windsor sports including Pee Wee Baseball, Little League Baseball and Basketball. Later, Eddie could be found snowmobiling with his dad and friends from Vermont to Canada. Dirt biking and racing Hare scrambles in NETRA (New England Trail Riders) became his passion. Eddie loved to ride, race, and be in the woods. He most recently raced in NETRA's premier enduro series in Maine. He frequently hiked or Mountain biked in Northwest Park and the Metacomet trail with his dog, Skip. He was fond of rollerblading, skateboarding, and riding BMX bicycles at the Sage Park Skate Park. Eddie was a freshman studying graphic arts at Springfield Tech in Massachussetts. He will be missed by his parents Paula and Edward Glofka, Jr.; his sister Haley Glofka; grandparents Edward Glofka, Sr and Mike and Angie Rizzo; godparents Gaye and Tony Rizzo; aunts and uncles, Lynne Meier, Teresa and Sal Santapoula, Luci Rizzo and her friend Tim Kiniry, Michael and Dorothy Rizzo, Laura and Robert Friedrich, Ernest Meier, and Carol and Winfield Thomas; cousins Arielle Thomas, Erich, Andrew and Rachael Meier, Matt and Russell Friedrich, Mellissa and Mark Holmes, Christina and Anthony Rizzo, Jennifer, George, and Alyssa Moskites, John Carlo, Juliana and Gina Santapoula, Joshua, Nicky, Brian, and Jonathan Rizzo.; his dog Skip; also his many friends from Windsor High School. He was predeceased by his grandmother Ann Rose Glofka and great-grandmother Frances Mancuso.
His family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. Family and friends are invited to a funeral service Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home followed by burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
