Eleanor A. Mitchell

Eleanor A. (Brady) Mitchell, 88, of South Windsor, wife of the late John J. Mitchell, died peacefully on Friday, December 20, 2013, at Hartford Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born on July 10, 1925, in Troy, NY, daughter of the late Luke and Anna (Link) Brady. Eleanor was a resident of South Windsor for over 48 years, a parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Church and a member of the South Windsor Senior Center. She was a devoted wife and caring mother to her four children. A kind, caring and loving woman to her siblings, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, she will be greatly missed. She leaves her children, John Mitchell and his wife Janet of Richmond, VT, Barbara Witinok and her husband Gerald of Tolland, Patrick Mitchell of Windsor and William Mitchell of South Windsor; her brothers, Robert Brady and his wife Ella of Troy, NY and Jack Brady of Troy, NY; four grandchildren, Michael Witinok and his wife Claire, Daniel Witinok and his wife Ellen, Clint Mitchell and Mallory Mitchell; four great grandchildren, Declan, Emma and Alice Witinok and Mason Magnano. She was predeceased by her sister, Marion Brady of Troy, NY. Family and friends may gather on Saturday, January 4, 2014, at 9 a.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor; followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., at St. Margaret Mary Church, South Windsor. Burial will follow in Wapping Cemetery. Her family will receive friends on Friday, January 3, 2014, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.
