Ethel Browdy Obituary
Ethel Kennedy Glickman Browdy (Aunt Ethel Camp Mar-Lin) has taken her final Curtain bow at age 97. She resided in Holmdel, NJ, West Hartford, CT and Wellington, FL. She is the daughter of Israel and Grace Glickman of Springfield, MA. Ethel is predeceased by her husband Charles M. Browdy, sisters Marcia Freedman and Irma Glickman. Surviving is a brother Henry J. Glickman. Also, her daughter Linda Browdy Feinberg of Freehold, NJ, Ethel's grandchildren Craig and his wife Judi and a granddaughter Farrah Feinberg as well as two great-grandsons. Ethel attended AIC and NYU. She was a member of the Garrick Players of Kennebunkport, Maine and enjoyed afternoon teas with Booth Tarkington. Ethel was a member of B'nai B'rith. She married Charles M. Browdy and together co-directed the joy of their existence Camp Mar-Lin. Known affectionately as Aunt Ethel, she guided shy youngsters to embrace summers of Fun, Friends and Healthy Living. Dance Ethel Dance! Funeral at Kodimah Cemetery West Springfield, Friday 12 noon. November 29th, Graveside. Shiva at Linda's - 2 Longfellow Court, Freehold, NJ. Sunday - Wednesday Dec. 4th.

Aunt Ethel (and Uncle Charlie) meant so very much to me! Camp Mar-Lin saved my childhood and I could NOT wait to go to camp every summer - 1968 - 1975. I was so happy that I could see Aunt Ethel a few weeks ago. Thank you Aunt Ethel (and Uncle Charlie) for all those wonderful summers. I will never forget you! I loved you Camp Mar-Lin!

My Cousin Ethel was the soul of generosity and kindness. Whenever my dad announced that we were going to see her, my face would light up with joy.

To Linda and family: "Aunt" Ethel's passing marks the end of an era. She brought such energy to Camp Mar-Lin, where I spent (mostly) happy summers ('63-'68) and learned and experienced so much, and of which I have many wonderful recollections. As I write this, I can picture Ethel up on stage leading us in song after lunch. May her memory be for a blessing.

It's with great sadness that we mark "Aunt" Ethel's passing. Those summers at Mar-Lin were the making of me on so many levels, and I will be forever grateful for the fun, friends and healthy living, not to mention all the learning, of my Camp Mar-Lin summers '52 through '59. Wherever she is now, Ethel will be with us in spirit forever. My deepest condolences to Linda on the loss of her Mom.
