GRANATA, Evelyn
Evelyn Granata, 78, of Middletown, wife of the late James Granata, died Thursday (February 28, 2013) at Middlesex Hospital. She was born in Hartford, daughter of the late William and Madeline (Hennessey) Cooke. Evelyn is survived by two sons, James Granata of Portland, Richard Granata and his wife Kathy of Colchester; three daughters, Janice Mierzejewski of Middletown, Amy Shaw and her husband Steven of Middletown, Maria Moore and her husband Bill of Montana; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 6 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown. Burial will be at the convenience of her family. Friends may call at Biega Funeral Home, Monday from 4-6 p.m. prior to the service. Those who wish may send memorial contributions to Middlesex Hospital Weiss Hospice Unit, c/o Dept. of Philanthropy, 28 Crescent St., Middletown, CT 06457. Kathy and family, I know the grief this year has brought you all, I have been going through the same with my dad. We must always remember that our loved ones are now with God and at peace. We must honor their memory always and never forget them. They are the ones that brought us life and the Lord will take care of them in death. Amen
