SILVESTRI, Faith F.
Faith F. Silvestri, 91, of Windsor, passed away peacefully on Sunday, (August 4, 2013) after a long illness. Born in East Hartford on July 21, 1922, she was the youngest daughter of the late John and Alice Foley. Faith moved to Simsbury in the mid-1950's, where she raised her four children while managing the office for her husband's business, Pine Glen Window Company. She moved to Windsor in 1987, where her passion for reading led her to become a page at the main branch of the Windsor Library until her retirement. In her later years she resided at Delamere Woods, where she was beloved by all. The family wishes to thank everyone at both Delamere Woods and Kimberly Hall North that took such good care of our mother. She is survived by her daughters AnnLouise M. Silvestri of East Granby; Hope S. DeSimone and her husband Chuck of Plymouth, MA; Jean S. Barz and her husband Eric, of Windsor; and by her son John L. Silvestri and his wife Eileen of Lisbon Falls, ME. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, that were the light of her life: Katie Silvestri of San Francisco, CA, Sarah Silvestri of Spokane, WA, John DeSimone and his wife Tara of Morristown, NJ, and Michael DeSimone and his wife Laurie of Dover, MA; as well as her beloved great-grandsons Matthew, Andrew and Ryan DeSimone. She was predeceased by her sisters Fran Corbett, Rosalie McLaughlin, and Ruth Donlon, as well as her ex-husband Louis P. Silvestri.
Her family will receive friends Tuesday, (August 6, 2013) from 5-7 pm followed by a Memorial Service 7 PM in the Chapel of the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Avenue, Windsor. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Mary Cemetery, East Hartford. Contributions may be made to either the Windsor Library, 323 Broad Street, Windsor, CT 06095 or the American Lung Association, 45 Ash Street, East Hartford, CT 06108. always remember walking thru the woods to the Silvestri house to see John(60's) and "Mrs. Silvestri" had kind and insightful advice each visit.
