PEACOCK, Florence E.
Florence E. Peacock, of Dunedin FL, formerly of Tolland, CT, died peacefully on June 3, 2013. She was born on June 19, 1920 to Duncan and Frances (Lynch) Grant in Easton, Maine. Florence leaves a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Allen Mitchell of Burlington, CT. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Robert. Florence worked in a variety of secretarial and administrative roles, and enjoyed the learning new technology from key punch machines to computer software programs. An excellent seamstress, she made beautiful clothes for herself and for her daughter. Robert and Florence enjoyed camping and square dancing, especially during their retirement years in Florida. The family is grateful for the staff of Emeritus at Dunedin, who offered a safe and comforting setting for Florence as her dementia progressed, and for the wonderful Suncoast Hospice team that provided extra care to assure a peaceful final journey.
The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Saturday June 29th at 10 a.m. in the Church of St. Mary Star of the Sea, Main St., Unionville, CT. Burial at the Tapley Cemetery in Blaine, ME will be at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by The Ahern Funeral Homes, Inc., www.ahernfuneralhome.com.
