RYAN, Gail Ann (Palumbo)

Gail Ann (Palumbo) Ryan, 69, of Stage Rd., Enfield, CT beloved wife of Michael A. Ryan, died Tuesday, July 16, at the St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. Born in Scranton, PA, a daughter of Lawerance and the late Margaret (Gibbons) Palumbo, she had lived in East Hartford for several years. Gail and Michael moved to the Enfield community and resided at Stage Rd., since 1967. They recently celebrated their 49th Wedding Anniversary on May 2nd. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church in Enfield. Gail was employed as a secretary in the business office of the East Windsor Board of Education for 15 years, retiring in 1996. She was an avid reader and a book-a-week was her "motto". Gail also enjoyed her daily crossword puzzles and was gifted with a talent for interior decorating, often helping family and friends with the interior designs and decorating of their homes. In addition to her devoted husband, Michael, of Enfield and her father, Lawerance of East Hartford, Gail is survived by her three children, Michelle Ryan and her husband, David Alderman, of Milford, CT, Michael Ryan and his wife, Claudia (White), of Durham, CT and Jennifer Ryan of Enfield; and four adoring grandchildren, Ashley Stachelek, Donny Stachelek, Cassidy White Ryan and Maegan Alderman.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 19, at 12 noon at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd. Burial will follow in the Hazardville Cemetery. Gail's family will receive relatives and friends at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels on Friday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Her family has suggested that expressions of sympathy may be in the form of memorial donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memorial Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
