Gloria Chute Obituary
Gloria Alice (Bougor) Chute, 90, of Southington, loving wife of the late Edward J. Chute, passed away Sunday (December 29, 2013) at the Summit of Plantsville. She was born in New Britain the daughter of the late Theodore and Anna (Redmond) Bougor. Gloria enjoyed crocheting and knitting always making a beautiful set for each baby born into the family. She was also an expert seamstress. She loved traveling, family get togethers and watching her grandchildren. Gloria leaves behind four sons; Edward Chute Jr. and wife Nancy of Smithville, TN. Allen Chute and wife Sandy of Plantsville, Michael Chute of Southington, Thomas Chute and wife Mary Beth of Southington, four grandchildren Eddie Chute III and wife Iwona, Lindsey DiPietro and husband Jon, Patrick Chute and wife Laurie, and Courtney Chenkus and husband Michael. She leaves two great grandchildren Jim and Brendan Chute, a sister Doris Szczepanik, and a sister in law Ronnie Bougor, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Theresa Pereau and two brothers Ted and David Bougor. The Chute family would like to thank the staff of the Summit at Plantsville. and the Franciscan Home and Hospice team for all of their loving care and compassion. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday (January 6, 2014) 11 AM at Corpus Christi Church, Wethersfield. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Family and friends are invited to call from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Rose Hill Funeral Home 580 Elm St. Rocky Hill just prior to leaving for church. Those wishing may make a donation in Gloria's memory to a charity of the donor's choice.

A flower closes
as it dances on a twilight breeze
the clouds float by
as the sun says goodnight
and nothing seems changed
as the glow fades from sight
But this day is different
because of one silenced voice
a loved one has left us
and we're faced with a choice
Do we renew our faith
and be thankful for time
or simply grieve with questions
and look for a sign
For it can be easy to show anger
or perhaps to feel blame
but instead simply remember
as you whisper their name
Strive to remember the joy
of the laughter once shared
and to make them a promise
that they'll always be here
That you will include them in thought
as each new day dawns
whispering their name softly
