Gloria Walker Obituary
Gloria Ann Lucille (Abatte) Walker, 85, of Tolland, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2014. She was born November 12, 1928 in Hartford, daughter of the late Angelo and Mary Abatte. As a child she enjoyed working with her father in the auto garage spray painting cars. She worked for Travelers, Pratt & Whitney, and was a newspaper reporter. Gloria was a member of the Grange and was a Sunday School Teacher at the Staffordville Congregational Church. She enjoyed traveling the world, gardening, and was an avid reader. She is survived by her children Angela M. Breault and her husband Andre of Manchester, Lisa A. Fox of Staffordville, and Jevan C. Klein of Enfield; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Melanie Bacchiochi, her brother Donald, her step-mother Nancy Abatte, her grandson Gary Fox, and her ex-husband and good friend, Wilbur Walker. Relatives and friends may join the family on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at the Small & Pietras Funeral Home, 65 Elm Street, Rockville, CT 06066 from 6-8 PM. A Funeral Home Service will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 10am. Burial will follow at Grove Hill Cemetery, Vernon. For online condolences, please visit www.pietrasfuneralhome.com.

Our sincerest condolences to the Walker Family. Gloria was a great lady and a dear friend. Although years have gone by - we remember fondly the great times and many laughs we had. Leaf raking parties at her home followed by a delicious turkey dinner and clams with linguine, her whiskey sours were the best! Gloria was a great friend indeed - always cheerful, witty, smiling and full of life. A special lady bringing us many memorable moments. Gloria, although time has come between us - know that you were always in our thoughts and prayers. May you rest in peace dear friend. God Bless you and your beautiful family.
