DAVIDSON, Greta (Peterson)
Greta (Peterson) Davidson, 98, of Berlin, widow of Wilbur "Bill" Davidson, passed away Sunday, (November 3, 2013) at her home surrounded by her loving family. A native and longtime New Britain resident, Greta has been a Berlin resident since 2007. She was employed at Travelers Insurance Company for 17 years until retiring in 1977. Greta is a member of First Lutheran Church in New Britain; a former member of the Altar Guild at church; and volunteered at New Britain General Hospital for 29 years. Surviving are two daughters, Janice Damiano of Middletown, and Marilyn Brand and her husband Manfred of Alexandria, VA; a sister, Barbara Egan of New Britain; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Russo and his wife Darlene of Berlin; Leslie LeBlanc and her husband John of Bethesda, MD; and Erin Coughlin of Middletown; nine great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Emily, Cierra, Ben, Jayden, Graham, Zachary, Kalani and Jace; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Bill, she was predeceased by a son-in-law, Nicholas Damiano; a grandson, Michael Brand; a brother, George Peterson; and two sisters, Lorraine Carlson and Eva Marion.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday 12 noon at First Lutheran Church, 77 Franklin Square, New Britain, CT 06051. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The Carlson Funeral Home, New Britain is assisting the family with arrangements. Donations may be made to the First Lutheran Church Memorial Fund. We live where Greta lived and she was such a pleasure to speak with every time! Lovely person who just enjoyed her life-she will be missed! God bless her and her family now
