GRIFFIN, Hazel E.
Hazel E. (Hood) Griffin, 76, longtime Manchester resident, died Tuesday, (November 5, 2013) at a local convalescent home. Hazel was born in Lubec, ME on July 14, 1937, one of ten children of Alton and Addie (Patterson) Hood. She was raised in Maine and had been a Manchester resident since the 1960's. Prior to retiring she was a nurse's aide at South Windsor Convalescent Home and Bidwell Manor in Manchester. She is survived by her daughter and two sons, Marilyn Francis and her husband Philip of Manchester, Timothy Griffin of Venice, FL, and Jeffrey Griffin and his wife Marsha of Melbourne, FL; three grandchildren, Daniel Francis, Amanda Griffin, and Nicole Griffin; two great-grandchildren, Emily Francis and Arianna Bradford; her sister, Kathleen Schleigh of Tennessee, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Services will be private with burial in Maine. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. The Holmes Funeral Home has care of arrangements. To leave a message for her family please visit www.holmes-watkinsfuneralhomes.com.
