MILKOWSKI, Helen Mary (Depka)

Helen Mary (Depka) Milkowski, 93, passed away on Monday, (June 17, 2013) at Litchfield Woods, Torrington. She was the loving wife of the late Michael Milkowski. Born July 14, 1919 in Thompsonville; the daughter of the late Mary and Fred Depka. Helen retired from the Union Pin Company in Winsted. She was an avid bowler, loved to do word search puzzles, enjoyed soap operas and most of all, taking care of her grandchildren. She leaves three sons, Joseph Milkowski and wife Marietta of Simsbury, Henry Milkowski and wife Linda of Harwinton and Leon Milkowski of Torrington; a brother, Leon Depka and wife Carol of FL; two son-in-laws, Richard Rizzo of Wethersfield and Fred Patenaude of Becket, MA; 11 grandchildren, Brenda Futrill, Jennifer Milkowski, Richard Rizzo, Jr., Mark Rizzo, Nickie Rizzo, Tony Falzone, Lance Falzone, Nicole Falzone, Henry Milkowski, Jr., Chelsea Milkowski and Johnny Milkowski; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two daughters, Sophie Rizzo and Michaelene Patenaude; three brothers, Joseph, Fred and Peter Depka; two sisters, Gladys Koladowski and Stella Blotniski; two granddaughters, Terry and Michelle and great-grandson, Carlos. The family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to the staff at Litchfield Woods and the VNA of CT.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Helen's celebration on Friday, June 21, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Cross Parish National Catholic Church in Enfield followed by a burial at the Holy Cross Parish cemetery. Friends may call on Friday prior to the mass from 9:30 - 10:30 at the church. Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main St., Winsted has care of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Helen to: The Center for Cancer Care, 200 Kennedy Dr., Torrington, CT 06790 or the charity of your choice.
