STASKAVICH, Helen S.
Helen S. Staskavich, 96, of East Hartford, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Wednesday (July 10, 2013). She was born in Feeding Hills, MA on November 3, 1916. She was formerly employed as a machinist at Arrow, Hart & Hegeman and worked for Underwood Typewriter in Hartford. Helen also worked for Colt Firearms during World War II. She enjoyed socializing with everyone, especially her neighbors of "Hartford East." Helen is survived by her devoted daughter, Dolores Corriveau of East Hartford; her three adored grandchildren, Donna Ann Corriveau of Vernon, Steven Corriveau and his wife Kirsten of Manchester and Michael Corriveau of Hartford; three cherished great-grandchildren, Christopher Roland Cyr, Justin Corriveau and Ryan Corriveau, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Walter, Joseph and Bernard Kukavitch; her sister Mildred Kukavitch-Kove; her half-brothers, Edward and Chester Foremen and her son-in-law, Joseph Corriveau.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday (July 15) at 10:30 a.m. at St. Christopher Church, 538 Brewer St., East Hartford. Burial will follow in Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, prior to the Mass, from 9-10 a.m. at the D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St., East Hartford. Memorial donations may be made to Oak Hill (The Connecticut Institute for the Blind) 120 Holcomb Street Hartford, CT 06112.
