Henry Darna "Hank" Darna

1922 - 2013

Henry "Hank" Francis Darna, age 91, passed away suddenly on Dec. 2, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born in Stratford, CT on July 4th, 1922, the son of Armando (Sam) and Genevieve Darna. A veteran of WW II, he served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater of Operations. He was the owner of Darna's Restaurant in Bishop's corner, West Hartford. He entered the automotive business and held sales positions at both Moriarty Brothers and at Lynch Motors (where he happily sold Toyotas) until retirement. He and Jo, his wife, spent many happy years travelling in their RV seeing the country and visiting friends and family. He is survived by his daughters; Claudia Peruggi and her husband Richard, of Bolivia, N.C. and June Love and her husband, Fran, of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Brian Peruggi and his wife, Nicole, of Providence, RI, Andrew Peruggi of Raleigh, N.C., Tim Love and his wife, Lisa, of Chicago, IL and Julie Love of Dallas, TX., He is also survived by his sister, Elizabeth Droney, of Manchester and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. He is pre-deceased by his beloved wife of 67 years, Josephine (Roscello), 3 brothers and 1 sister. Visitation will be held for family and friends Wednesday, Dec. 18th from 4-6 pm at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W Center St, Manchester CT. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Dec., 19th at 11 am at St. Margaret Mary Church, 80 Hayes Rd., South Windsor, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his name to The Center for the Intrepid, a non-profit facility for wounded service men and women at the San Antonio Military Medical Center.
