Herbert Poteat Obituary
Herbert J. Poteat, 76, of New Britain died on Monday, November 18, 2013 at home. He was the beloved husband of the late Edythe Poteat. Born in North Carolina, he lived in West Hartford before moving to New Britain a short time ago. Herbert worked at Pratt & Whitney for many years. Survivors include his stepchildren Justin Thompson of New Britain, Ronelle Comer of Windsor, his brother Wallace Poteat in North Carolina, two sisters Dorothy Richards in South Carolina, Salina Poteat in New Jersey and several nieces and nephews. His funeral service and burial will be private in Spring Grove Cemetery, Hartford. Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington is serving the family.

So sorry to hear of your loss. Heard the news from Herbert's brother Wallace. My family sends heartfelt sympathy and love. I met your mother, Edythe as she and Herbert visited my family in their earlier years of marriage.

Thanks to Wallace for informing me of the lost of his brother and my long time classmate. We graduated together in 1956. He went into the private sector and I went into the military for 27 years. Always planned to contact him for a meeting. Still "HOPE" to see him again... RIP!!!
