Howard Monte Obituary



Howard H. Monte, 86, of Moodus, husband of the late Martha E. (Tyler) Monte died Thursday (November 14, 2013) at Chestelm Health Care in East Haddam. Born Aug. 10, 1927 in Middletown he was the son of the late Harry and Ethel (Senf) Monte. Howard was a lifelong resident of Moodus and was a retired Graphic Artist having worked for Sibley and also Whelan Engineering. He was an Amateur Archeologist and was a member of the Connecticut Archeology Assoc. Howard is survived by his two daughters Sherrin Monte Thornton of Clinton and Karen Chamberlain and her husband John of Enfield; a sister Ethel Traskos of Moodus; four grandchildren Jessica, Meredith, Michael, and Abby. He was predeceased by his brother Charles Monte. Funeral services will be held Tuesday Nov. 19th at 11 a.m. in the Spencer Funeral Home, 112 Main St., East Hampton. Burial will follow in the family plot in Moodus Cemetery. Friends may call at the Spencer Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 825 Brook St. I-91 Tech Center Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
