Ilene Gorfain Obituary
The family mourns the loss of Ilene D. Gorfain, 46 years of age, of Bristol, formerly of Newington and West Hartford, who died Sunday, December 29, 2013. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of Rhoda (Levy) Gorfain of Farmington and the late Perry M. Gorfain. Besides her mother she leaves two sisters, Jenelle G. Sujat and her husband Richard of Boca Raton, FL, and Elyse G. Banak and her husband Steven of Holliston, MA; and five nieces, Alexa and Peyton Sujat, and Julianna, Carolyn and Heather Banak. The family appreciates their care and devotion given to Ilene by HARC, the staff at Ardmore Rd., Deb DeVivo and Country Side Manor. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 30, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Beth Alom Cemetery, Allen St., New Britain with Rabbi Jeffrey Bennett officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to HARC, 900 Asylum Ave., Hartford, CT 06105. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford. Rhoda, we were so sad to hear about Ilene. Bill and I were looking through old photos over the holiday week and came across pictures of Ilene at Special Olympic events and outings with the Newington gang. She was always a bright light. My fondest memory was sharing a Seder dinner at your home. Ilene's reading was beautiful. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
