Inga Elsa Janu

1918 - 2014

Inga Elsa (Hanson) Janu, 95, of Haddam, CT and formerly of West Hartford, CT, passed away peacefully with her twin daughters by her side and wrapped in the love of her great-grandchildren on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Aaron Manor in Chester, CT. Elsa, as she was known, was born in Malm�, Sweden on April 25, 1918. She came to the United States at age four, arriving on Ellis Island and settling in West Hartford, CT where she graduated from William H. Hall High School, class of 1936. She was retired after a long, notable career at Allen, Russell & Allen in Hartford, CT. She was the only child of Hilma and Birger Hanson. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ernest Stephen Janu, and her kitty, Stinky. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Botelle and her husband Robert of Haddam, CT and Sandra Hansen of McLean, VA, as well as her much loved granddaughters, Jennifer Von Elm and her husband Roger of McLean, VA, Amy Santo and her husband Leonel of Newington, CT and Krystn Ledoux and her husband David of Bolton, CT. She is also survived by the six lights of her life, her great-grandchildren: Lauren and Andrew Von Elm of McLean, VA, Alexis and Jack Santo of Newington, CT and Sydney and Logan Ledoux of Bolton, CT. She will also be greatly missed by her best friend, her kitty Blackjack. Private services will be held with burial at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Rocky Hill, CT. There will be no calling hours. Rose Hill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
