Isabella Karatkiewicz

Isabella (Festa) Karatkiewicz, 89, of Rocky Hill, wife of the late Adam Karatkiewicz, died Monday, January 13, 2014 in Rocky Hill. Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of Marco and Maria (Managinello) Festa and lived in Hartford and Newington for many years. She was employed by the State of Connecticut Bureau of Collection Services as an investigator retiring in 1988. She was a life member of the D.A.V. # 12 Auxiliary and P.L.A.V. Post # 51 in Hartford and enjoyed square dancing for more than 20 years. She is survived by three children; two sons, Richard and his wife Kathleen of Wethersfield, Bruce Karatkiewicz and Catherine of Hollywood, FL; a daughter, Marlene Karatkiewicz Parker and her husband Darrell of Rocky Hill; a sister, Marie Skac of Somers; six grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Jerry and Joseph Festa. The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10 am at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield, CT 06109. Burial will be in Soldiers Field, Hartford, CT. The family will receive relatives and friends for one hour prior to the mass on Thursday, 8:30 to 9:30 am, at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd, Wethersfield.
