LUCE, Isabelle H.
Isabelle H. Luce, 80, passed from this life Friday (October 25, 2013). Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late George and Isabelle (Payne) Harrington. Isabelle was a retired registered nurse. She was a graduate of St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Hartford, and worked there for many years in the emergency room. She worked at numerous nursing jobs in Connecticut throughout her career. She was a member of the Berlin, CT planning committee formulating the first hospice home care in that area. She was also a visiting and hospice nurse in Newport Center, Vermont area and pre-school testing and eye exams for pre-school children in Lady County in FL, as well as many years of volunteer work. Isabelle lived most of her life in Connecticut and came to The Villages from Newport Center, VT in 1994. She was a member of the Lake View Community Church, Altoona, FL. She continued her volunteer work at the First Baptist Church in Leesburg and at Leesburg Medical Center. She enjoyed knitting, playing set back and water walking. She was most proud of her husband Herb of 57 years and her family. Isabelle leaves her husband Herbert "Herb" Luce; son, Christopher Luce and wife Dawn of Kensington, daughter, Carol McGuire of Charlotte, NC; brothers, David Harrington of Medway, MA, George Harrington of San Antonio, TX; and four grandchildren, Jacquelyn, Benjamin, Jacob and Lucas McGuire.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 28, 2013 at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages, FL at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to a Hospice of your choice.
