I am so grateful to have had one last visit with my Uncle Jim on July 29th. I had the opportunity to tell him how much it meant to me for him to make Sheila my namesake and for taking me on my first motorcycle ride! That as a little girl, my tall, dark handsome uncle was my first crush! I asked him silly questions, like what his favorite flower was as I associate certain ones with certain people. At first he said he never really thought about it, but when he did, he felt all the good ones, like roses didn't last long enough. I hugged him, kissed him, told him I loved him, that I would not say goodbye, only that I would see him on the other side, and that he'd better be there waiting for me when it was my turn.
Yes Uncle Jim, for us, the good ones always go by too soon.
Will always remember and miss you.
Love, Dawn
