Jane Hart

1915 - 2013

Jane (Thomson) Hart passed away in Meriden on Tuesday, December 31, 2013. She was born August 26, 1915 in West Hartford and lived there most of her life. Jane graduated from Hall High School in 1934. She worked for the Town of West Hartford where she met her husband Alcott "Aukie" Hart, her husband of 57 years. Jane was a caregiver to all of her family and served as a volunteer for many years at Hartford Hospital. She also worked at her family's business, Thomson's Florist formerly on South Main Street in West Hartford. She loved gardening, could often be found on the golf course with her husband, and was a staunch Red Sox fan. Jane was predeceased by her husband, her brother, Paul Thomson and his wife Phyllis. She leaves her son Stephen, his wife Diane and son Matthew all of Old Lyme; her nephew, John Thomson and his wife Loyce of Beverly, MA, her nieces Eleanor Adman of Seattle, WA, and Sandra Swanson and her husband Norman of Old Saybrook, and their families. Calling hours will Monday, January 6, 2014 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home, 136 South Main Street, West Hartford. Burial will be private.
