Obituary Condolences

Joan M. (Plourde) Banville, 80, of Southington, passed away Wednesday (February 20, 2013) at her home. She was the wife of the late Roger J. Banville. Born August 12, 1932 in Ft. Kent, ME, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Delia (Dubois) Plourde. Joan retired as an officer of the Prowler Tire Co., a business she and her husband started in Guilford. She was a parishioner of St. Dominic Church. She was an active member of the Calendar House, the Garden Club and two book clubs. She is survived by her loving children, Michelle Banville of San Francisco, CA, Paul Banville of Annapolis, MD and Roger Banville and wife Heather of Annapolis, MD; two grandsons, Scott Banville of Hartford, and Christopher of Omaha, NE; three brothers, Joel Plourde of Springvale, ME, Philip Plourde of Clifton Park, NY and David Plourde of Concord, NH; two sisters, Wonita Cyr of Millinocket, ME and Mina Boilard of Clifton Park, NY; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Gilda LaPointe.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Rd., Southington. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be prior to the Mass from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington.
