Joan M. Kiely

Joan M. (Moyer) Kiely, 83, of Windsor, beloved wife of the late Francis J. Kiely, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 27, 2013. She was born on October 21, 1930 in Hartford to the late Ward and Gertrude (Harrington) Moyer. Joan worked for the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston for 30 years before her retirement. She loved flowers, visiting the casino and adored her cat, Oliver. She was an avid New York Yankees fan. She will be greatly missed and remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her children, Kevin F. Kiely and his wife Mary of Windsor; Ken W. Kiely and his wife Ellen of West Suffield; Patti K. DeLuca and her husband Nick of Windsor; Lori M. Christensen and her husband Scott of Granby; Kerry T. Kiely and his wife Carissa of Clayton, NC; Sharon K. McIntyre of Windsor Locks; her sister, Alicia Smith and her husband Bill, her brother, Roy Moyer, as well as fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 2, 10:30 a.m. at the Carmon Poquonock Funeral Home, 1816 Poquonock Ave., Windsor. Burial will follow in Windsor Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Joan's family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
