RASKAUSKAS, John L.
John L. Raskauskas, 80, of East Granby, beloved husband of Antoinette (Mazziotto) Raskauskas, passed away on Sunday (November 3, 2013) at his home. Born in Ansonia to the late Sylvester and Pauline (Nevergriskas) Raskauskas, he served his country proudly with the US Army during the Korean War and was an East Granby resident most of his life. He was owner of JLR Construction for many years. John was an industrious man and a hard worker throughout his life, always tinkering on one project or another. He felt most at home outdoors. He loved nature and animals, but most important was his family, who will miss him dearly. Besides his wife Antoinette, he is survived by his daughters, Linda Blaszka and her husband Darren of Torrington, and Karen Raskauskas and David Vesce of Enfield; his grandchildren Emma, Liam and Otto; and his sister Mary Golon of East Granby. Besides his parents he was predeceased by three brothers and one sister.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Hayes Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook St. Granby. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
