KOSTEK, Josephine P.

Josephine P. Kostek, 88, of Newington CT passed away Friday, (October 25, 2013) at Hartford Hospital surrounded by her children and grandchildren. The daughter of the late Mary (Wilczak) and Stanley Nosal, Josephine was born December 7, 1924 in Higganum, CT. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, John Edward Kostek. Family was most important in Josephine's life with her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren bringing her joy, laughter and entertainment. She will be deeply missed by her children Janet and Vincent Gemmiti of Granby, Joyce and Roger McIntyre of Glastonbury, Philip and Toni Kostek of Newington and Nancy and Edward Mocarsky of Wethersfield. Grandma will be missed by Nathan and Kelly Gemmiti, Christopher and Amy Gemmiti, Kelly and Michael McDonnell, Daniel McIntyre and Alenka Zeman, David Kostek, Stephanie and Jason Muller, Daryl Mocarsky and Dana Mocarsky. Josephine's cherished great grandchildren will miss Gigi (Great Grandma), Olivia, Avery and Mia Gemmiti, Nolan and Nina Gemmiti, Aidan and Audrey McDonnell and Zuzana McIntyre. The family thanks the Staff at Hartford Hospital, 8th floor North for the palliative care Josephine received during her last days. Her children would also like to thank the entire Staff at the Jefferson House in Newington for their exceptional and compassionate care and the Staff at Middlewoods Assisted Living of Newington for the care and friendships she developed.
There are no calling hours and funeral services and burial will be private. D'Esopo Funeral Chapel of Wethersfield is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorial donations may be made in Josephine's name to the Helen & Harry Gray Cancer Center, 80 Seymour Street, P.O. Box 5037, Hartford, CT 06102. Nancy,Joyce,Janet and Phillip,
We are so sorry to hear of your moms passing. Although we didnt get to be together much, Aunt Josie was always special to me. I felt like she was my blood aunt. Mike always loved her as well. Jessica hasn't seen her in a while but Ryan remembers her clearly. We all had fun when she was around. A positive person. She was a very wonderful and special person. We will miss her dearly. Now she as at rest.
