KOWALCZYK, Kathleen Mary
Kathleen Mary Kowalczyk, 63, of West Simsbury, wife of Timothy J. Kowalczyk, passed away Thursday (November 7, 2013). Born and raised in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Amy (Skyrme) O'Donnell. Kathleen graduated from Northeastern College in Illinois and taught in public schools in Chicago, Rantoul, and Kansas Illinois before moving to West Simsbury in 1990. Kathleen was predeceased by her first husband, Richard Kelton who was killed in action in Vietnam. She was a passionate racquetball player and loved museums and plays. Besides her husband, Timothy, whom she married in 1976, she leaves a brother, Bernard O'Donnell of Chicago, IL.
Her family will receive friends Tuesday, November 12, 5-8 p.m. at Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Rd., Avon. Family and friends may gather Wednesday, Nov 13, 9 am at Carmon's followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 265 Stratton Brook Rd., West Simsbury. Burial will be in Warren Cemetery, Gurnee, Illinois at the convenience of her family. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook Street, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
