GATTING, Kathryn M.
Kathryn M. Gatting, 96, of Windsor, beloved wife of the late Rudolph Gatting, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 7, 2013 at Kimberly Hall in Windsor. Born in Windsor Locks to the late Paul and Anna (Petruska) Murkowicz, she was a resident of Windsor for most of her life and was a member of St. Gertrude's Church in Windsor. She worked as an assembler with Royal Typewriter and was a member of the Golden Fellowship and the Windsor Senior Citizens. Kathryn was a championship league bowler and enjoyed golfing and traveling. She was a very social person and loved to attend parties with her friends and family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her, especially her daughters, Carol Anastasio and her husband Philip of Windsor, and Janet DeBari of Sunnyfield, FL; her grandchildren Amy Peters of Windsor and Joseph DeBari of Sunnyfield, FL; her great grandson Douglas Peters; her brothers Walter Murkowicz and Charles Murkowicz both of Windsor Locks; her sisters Jean Gatting of Cape Cod, MA, and Bertha Talbot of Windsor. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by her brothers, Frank, Alex, and Michael Murkowicz and her sisters Helen Pascoe, Christine Elder, and Mary Christensen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10 at St. Gertrude's Church, 550 Matianuck Ave., Windsor followed by burial in Windsor Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Jan. 9 from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to St. Gertrude Church, 550 Matianuck Ave., Windsor, CT 06095 or to Kimberly Hall Recreation Fund, 1 Emerson Dr., Windsor, CT 06095.
