LaVerne PEREZI Obituary

PEREZI, LaVerne D.

LaVerne D. Perezi, 81, of Berlin, was called to be with the Lord Saturday (September 14, 2013). Born in Middletown, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Margaret (Lisitano) Pattavina. LaVerne resided in New Britain most of her adult years and moved to Berlin six years ago. She graduated from Middletown High School and attended Morse School of Business in Hartford. LaVerne was employed by the State of Connecticut, most of those 27 years at Central Connecticut State University. Upon retirement, she traveled numerous times to Washington State where her youngest son resides. Her greatest enjoyment was the company of her family, as we were together regularly, whether it be at her home, or taking in an evening event. Laverne was a member of the Newington Chapter of AARP, and as a member of St. Ann Parish, New Britain, was on the Ladies Guild. She also served on the Scholarship Committee of the Italian Fraternal Society and would volunteer her time to help out for scholarship fund raising events. Along her journey in life, she met many wonderful friends with whom she shared memories. She especially enjoyed her Monday night card games with the "Ladies of Beckley Farms" and breakfast and luncheon engagements with friends and former co-workers. She had a loving spirit and sparkling personality to match and she will be missed by all those that came into her life. LaVerne is survived by her daughter, Karen Perezi-Beaudoin and her husband Ray of New Britain; her two sons, Vincent Perezi of New Britain and Kenneth Perezi of Issaquah, WA. She also leaves her step-children, Pauline Cabrila of Bristol, Pierre Cabrila and his wife Lori of Terryville; her four grandchildren, Alexandria and Hunter Perezi and Jake and Jared Cabrila. The Perezi family wishes to thank her doctors: Dr. Neil Wasserman and Dr. Brian Bryne, all the caregivers on N-3 and C-5 of the Hospital of Central CT and the VNA Hospice for all the personal and dignified care that she received. In addition, thanks to all of her friends and relatives who shared a kind word or thoughtful gesture during her brief illness.
Funeral rites for LaVerne will be held Wednesday September 18, 2013 with the procession departing at 10 a.m. from the Paul A. Shaker/Farmingdale Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Avenue, New Britain, CT, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Ann Church, 101 North St. New Britain, CT. Committal service and final resting place will be in St. Mary Cemetery, 1141 Stanley St., New Britain, CT. Relatives and friends may call at the Paul A. Shaker / Farmingdale Funeral Home, Wednesday from 8 to 10 a.m. Directions to funeral home: I-84 East or West - Exit 37 ( Fienemann Road) right off exit - one mile down on right. Please accept my deepest condolences on your mother's passing. When coming to my office to drop off the Italian cookies she knew I loved, she always had a smile on her face. She will be missed by all that knew her.
