Laurence SIEMBAB Obituary

SIEMBAB, Laurence (Larry) Dominic

Laurence (Larry) Dominic Siembab, 85, of Kensington, passed away peacefully, Monday, (August 19, 2013), after a short illness. He was born in New Britain where he met his beloved wife Mary of 42 years. He was predeceased by Mary, and his brothers Steve, Lou, Carl and sister Betty. He is survived by his loving children, Linda Bodman and her husband Skip, of Southwick, MA, Lauren Siembab of West Hartford, Larry Siembab and his wife, Lisa, of Rocky Hill, and Leann Cormier and her husband Phil of New Britain. He also leaves behind many special nieces, nephews, family and friends. He especially enjoyed many winter trips to Florida with his lifelong friend Eleanor. Larry worked as a project manager for Gampel Construction and a superintendent for Devcon Enterprises prior to retiring in 1992. He was a faithful parishioner at St Paul's Church in Kensington and an avid golfer and member of Timberlin Senior Men's Club. He was also a big fan of UCONN sports, and backyard bird watching. Larry found the most joy, with his ten beloved grandchildren; David, Chloe, Michael, Benjamin, Amanda, Abigail, Lily, Alex, Aianna and Mari. They were always his priority. He was happiest at family gatherings and attending their sports and music activities. His family loved to hear his stories about everything from his childhood growing up in New Britain, how to fix almost anything, and his advice on how to play 31. Larry was a simple, loving man and exemplified for his family that "less is more".

Larry has been a neighbor to my family for 45 years and my husband and myself were lucky enough to have been his neighbor for the past 13 years. He was a kind and gentle man with a great sense of humor and loved telling us stories about his grandchildren. He was a wonderful friend and we will truly miss him.
