Leo Cournoyer

Leo Cournoyer, 93, of West Hartford, husband of the late Lillian (Levesque) Cournoyer died December 1, 2013 in West Hartford. Born in Springfield, MA, on December 19, 1919, he was the son of the late Oliva and Alice (Proulx) Cournoyer. He moved to Hartford at age 10 and has resided in Hartford and West Hartford ever since. He was a U.S. Army Air Force Veteran serving in World War II in Europe. He retired as a tool & die maker from HoloChrome Manufacturing Co. on February 28, 1982. He was a parishioner of St. Mark the Evangelist Church, West Hartford. Leo leaves a sister-in-law Georgette Levesque of Montreal Canada, a nephew Robert and wife Pauline Ouellette of South Windsor, nieces Marilyn Mulcahy of Rocky Hill and Claudette Powell of Sarasota FL, a great niece Tracy Ouellette of West Granby, a great nephew Michael Mulcahy of Rocky Hill and six nieces in Canada. Leo also leaves his good neighbors and many friends at the Elmwood Senior Center. Calling hours will be Wednesday, prior to the funeral mass from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at the Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:15 a.m. at St. Mark the Evangelist Church, West Hartford. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a favorite charity or to the Elmwood Senior Center, 1106 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, CT 06110.
