CAMPANELLI, Leonard R.
Leonard R. Campanelli, 83, formerly of New Britain, died Friday evening at his daughter's home in Enfield. Born in New Britain, the son of the late Levio and Rose (Rooney) Campanelli, he lived in New Britain most of his life. He was the husband of the late Maryann (Nesta) Campanelli. An employee of Reno Machine Company for 28 years, he had previously worked at Pratt & Whitney. A Korean War Army Veteran, he was a member of the 169th Infantry Veteran's Corps and the 43rd Infantry Division Veteran's Association having served as Commander for their reunions. He was a long time member of the American Legion, the Knights of Columbus Daly Council and the BPO Elks Lodge # 957. Mr. Campanelli is survived by his daughter Patricia Campanelli of Enfield, with whom he made his home, his son Thomas Campanelli of East Hartford; two grand- children Amanda and Emily; his brother Everett Campanelli of New Britain and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son James Campanelli.
Funeral services will be held Thursday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1755 Stanley St., New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Sq., New Britain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association of Connecticut at 45 Ash Street, East Hartford, CT 06108.
