HANLAN, Leslie N. Sr.
Leslie N. Hanlan, Sr., 89, of Hartford and St. James, Jamaica, beloved husband of Concielin (Clarke) Hanlan, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2013 after a brief illness. Leslie was born in St. James, Jamaica on September 23, 1923, son of the late John and Lynette (Osborne) Hanlan, and came to the United States in 1968. He and Concielin settled in Hartford where they faithfully attended St. Monica Episcopal Church. Leslie was a member of the Brotherhood of St. Andrew and worked as a machinist at Stanadyne in Windsor from 1968 until his retirement in 1989. During his leisure time, he enjoyed gardening and spending time with his children. In addition to his wife of 62 years, he leaves three sons, Kerman H. Hanlan and his wife Maxine of Bloomfield, Leslie N. "Noel" Hanlan, Jr. of Bloomfield, Milton E. Hanlan and his wife Donna of Torrington and a daughter, Soyla Boynes and her husband Melvin of St. Thomas, V.I.; a sister, Ruby Forsythe of Hanover, Jamaica; and five grandchildren, Shayla, Serrita, Margo, Greg, and Gabrielle. Leslie was predeceased by his brother, Stanley Hanlan.
His funeral will be held Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 11 a.m. in St. Monica Episcopal Church, 3575 Main St. in Hartford with calling hours prior to the service beginning at 9 a.m. Burial will immediately follow the service in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Mrs. Hanlan, & Family so very sorry for your loss just know God knew Mr. Hanlan was tired and needed to rest, I know your hearts are heavy keep your faith in God and he will comfort you through it. God bless.
