FOOHEY, Lorne Dennis
Lorne Dennis Foohey, 66, of Middletown and Glastonbury, CT, passed away peacefully Sunday (June 2, 2013). Lorne was born in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada on November 6, 1946, a son of the late John and Isabelle (Smith) Foohey. He was the fifth of eleven children. Lorne was raised in a loving household and was devoted to his large family as a concerned brother and caring uncle. Lorne excelled at sports and rooted for the Boston Red Sox & Celtics teams. He attended Hartford schools and graduated from Cheney Technical School. Lorne was an independent contractor carpenter. Lorne will be remembered as a quiet man with a hearty laugh and ready smile. Lorne is survived by his siblings: Carolyn MacDonald, Constance Yuska, Mary Lou Foohey, David and Nancy Foohey, Paul and Marie Foohey, Barbara and Geoffrey Fiszel, Brian and Lisa Foley, Sharon and Wes Downing, and Patricia Hyyppa. In addition to his parents, Lorne is predeceased by his sister Joanne Foohey. The family would like to thank the staff at Apple Rehab in Middletown for the wonderful care given to Lorne.
Calling hours are to be held today, Tuesday June 4, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Glastonbury Funeral Home, 450 New London Turnpike, Glastonbury, CT 06033. A Graveside Service is to be held on Wednesday, June 5th, 2013 at 1:30pm, in St. Augustine Cemetery, Hopewell Rd., South Glastonbury, CT. We are very sorry about the loss of your beloved brother Lorne. We send our deepest condolences to you and to your family.
