Lucy DeMarco

Lucy DeMarco, 93, of East Granby, beloved wife of the late Luigi DeMarco, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Italy to the late Francesco and Genoveffa (Giannetta) Cardone, she came to the US as a young child and lived most of her life in East Granby. Lucy enjoyed cooking, but her true passion was her family. She was deeply devoted to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and they will all miss her dearly. She is survived by her daughters Jeanette Wininger and her husband Bill of Amston, and Mary Ann Caiafa and her husband Len of East Granby; her daughter-in-law Candice DeMarco of Windsor Locks; her grandchildren Louis DeMarco, Michael DeMarco and his wife Stacy, Tony DeMarco and his wife Brianne, Elizabeth Woods and her husband Todd, Rebecca Wininger, Jason Caiafa and his wife Meredith, Vince Caiafa, and Derek DeMarco; her great-grandchildren Tyler, Ashlie, Hunter, Kane, Laurel and Jackson; and her sister Irene Malerba of Manchester. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son Anthony J. DeMarco. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 16 at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave Windsor, followed by burial in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
