Madelyn Queor Obituary

Madelyn (Anziano) Queor, 95, of Middletown, wife of the late William Queor, died at her home at the Village at South Farms on November 15, 2013. She was born in Meriden, daughter of the late Philip and Agnes (D'Allesandro) Anziano. Madelyn had a bubbly personality and very endearing ways. She brought sunshine into the lives of those around her, especially all of those she tended during her 40 years as a hairdresser at Connecticut Valley Hospital. She loved to dance, and she and her husband enjoyed square-dancing together for over 30 years. She was a religious woman and her faith was very important to her. She was seldom seen without her cross or rosary in hand. She will be greatly missed by all who had the good fortune to know her. Madelyn is survived by many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Madelyn was predeceased by her brother Albert Litro, and sisters Theresa Fleming and Antoinette McBride. Her Funeral Liturgy will be held on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Sebastian Church, Middletown. Burial will be with her late husband in the State Veterans' Cemetery. A gathering in celebration of Madelyn's life will occur at the Village at South Farms on a date to be determined. Thank you to all of the friends and staff at the Village at South Farms (VSF) who welcomed Madelyn in May 2009, laughed with her and danced with her for many years, cared for her as she became ill, and then lovingly shepherded her on her final journey. Thank you also to the dedicated nurses of Middlesex Hospital Hospice Homecare, Interim Healthcare, and Lifeline Nursing, and to the compassionate caregivers of VSF Signature Services and Companions and Homemakers (Middletown), and to Millicent Malcolm, APRN, who supervised her care. All of you made it possible for Madelyn to remain at her home in her final days. As Madelyn would say, "God bless you". Those who wish may send memorial contributions to: St. Sebastian Church, 155 Washington St., Middletown, CT 06457. Rest in peace Aunt Madelyn. You were everything a woman should. Strong, feisty, loving, and had your dancing party Uncle Bill totally wrapped around your finger. Till I see you again. Holly (aka..Susie's daughter)
