SCHOEN, Marilyn J.
Marilyn J. (Cox) Schoen, beloved wife of Joseph E. Schoen, of Ellington, died Sunday (October 27, 2013) at home with her family by her side. She was born in Trenton, NJ, raised in New Brunswick, NJ and lived in South Windsor for many years before moving to Ellington in 2003. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, the beach in Florida, sewing, traveling and spending time with her family. She was a parishioner of St. Luke Church in Ellington. In addition to her husband Joseph, she leaves her children, Randy Schoen and his wife Laurie of Coventry, Sandy Schoen of Herndon, VA and Karen Kokoszka and her husband Bill of Tolland. Marilyn was the adored grandmother to Nicole Houser and her husband Ryan, Derrick Schoen, Collin and Dylan Metzger, Ryan and Devin Kokoszka and a great-grandson, Colton Houser.
Family and friends may gather, Thursday at 9 a.m. at Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Luke Church, 141 Maple Street, Ellington. Her family will receive friends, TODAY from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Memphis, TN 38148.
