DECARLI, Marjorie J.
Marjorie J. (Dort) DeCarli, of Fremont, NH, formerly of Ellington, CT and the Newburyport, MA area, died peacefully on Saturday Morning, (March 30, 2013) at Exeter Hospital in Exeter, NH. She was the beloved wife of the late Louis DeCarli. Born in Ipswich, MA, April 13, 1928, she was one of four children of the late Ernest and Sadie (Kent) Dort. Marjorie and her husband traveled extensively, experiencing many adventures, cultures, cuisines, and making lifelong friends along the way. She loved the beach and collecting sea shells from the various beaches she visited during her travels. Marjorie delighted in doing jigsaw/word puzzles as she loved the challenge and claimed that it kept her mind sharp. She was a longtime member of the Rockville United Methodist Church of Vernon, CT. Not having had children of her own, she took great joy in her nieces and nephews and their families. She likened them to having her own children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and will be greatly missed by all. Predeceased by her brother and two sisters, Donald Dort, Erma Rogers and Hilma Kaiser, she leaves behind several generations of nieces and nephews along with many dear friends.
Visiting hours at the Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Family Funeral Home, 35 Green St., Newburyport will be Wednesday, April 3, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. A Graveside Service for relatives and friends will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard's Cemetery in Rockville.
