LENNON, Marjorie Benson
Marjorie Benson Lennon, 72, of Bradenton, FL formerly of West Hartford, widow of Thomas Lennon, died unexpectedly on October 28, 2013 in Fiji. Marjorie was born in Portland, ME, the daughter of the late Richard H. and Blanche (Keables) Benson. She attended South Portland High School where she played the saxophone in the high school band. She attended Westbrook College. After college, Marjorie moved to Hartford and married Thomas. They raised two children, Patricia and Thomas, in West Hartford. Marjorie was a huge Red Sox fan and an avid bridge player; she was Silver Life Master. Recently Marjorie moved to Bradenton, Florida. She was wildly happy there, loved by her friends, community and bridge club. She is survived by her daughter Patricia and her husband Brian Zuniga of Virginia, her son Thomas and his partner, Kylene Mancarella of Canaan, CT. Additionally a sister Ruth West of Gorham, ME and many nieces, nephews and extended family survive her.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Molloy Funeral Home, 906 Farmington Ave. West Hartford with the Rev. Mark Diters as officiant. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Donations in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association, PO box 417005, Boston, MA 02241, or the Jimmy Fund c/o Dana Farber Cancer Institute, PO box 849168, Boston, MA 02284.
