MaryEllen, Victor, the entire Flynn Family, Fr. Mark will never be forgotten. I was only Blessed to have had the opportunity to get to know him for only a short time from St Bart’s in Manchester, but how lucky I was. He said a wonderful Mass, offered great Homily’s , sang beautifully, and made many of us laugh at his jokes. I pray for him nightly. I will remember him always. I hope you , all in his family are doing well. God Bless! Linda

Fr. Mark is greatly missed. He was such a thorough priest with his perfect way of celebrating the Mass....explaining rituals and the best homilies I ever heard week after week. He looked at the congregation when speaking.....
not looking down and reading his sermon. He was a fine priest.

I am so sorry to hear of Fr. Mark's passing. I'm from Southington however I worked in Farmington for many years attending the daily Mass at St. Patrick's Church. His homilies left me feeling so spiritual and would stay with me for days. Unfortunately, after Fr. Mark left St. Patrick's I attended Mass there a few times and was so disappointed in the homilies that I never returned. Fr. Mark had the voice of God, and now watching over all of us. Such a loss to the Catholic Church.

I was introduced to Father Mark by a childhood friend of his. One Saturday afternoon I had a spiritual meeting with him in Southbury after being very, very troubled by something in my life for a very long time. Father Mark saved my "life". He brought me back to our Lord that day and for that I will be FOREVER greatful to him. God Bless you Father Mark. I know our Lord has welcomed you into his kingdom with open arms.

Our condolences go out to Fr. Flynn's family. He was a wonderful spiritual leader for us here at St. Patrick's Church in Farmington. His sermons were thought provoking and his voice was truly a gift from God. We will keep him in our prayers.

In sadness I forgot to include in my previous message how much his wonderful singing voice was an added bonus at every Mass and when he had all at Mass sing the "Our Father" not just on a special occasion but so very often. That is such a beautiful memory and just one more reason to feel his loss.

Fr. Mark was a superb homilist. He celebrated Mass with complete reverence and absolute thoroughness. He was a fine priest. I looked forward to his homilies and was disappointed if someone else gave the homily. May he rest in peace.

I knew Fr. Mark Flynn when he was a deacon at Our Lady of Victory Church in West Haven in 1971-1972. He was a dynamic deacon and he was liked and respected. R.I.P. Father Flynn

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Father Mark. My deepest sympathies to all his family and friends! He was a wonderful Priest! He was our parish priest at St. Patrick Church in Farmington and I have s many fond memories of his time there! He also greatly comforted my brothers and I when my Mom passed away in 2007. Father Mark presided at her funeral mass and he met with us a few days before the service and we still talk today about how he helped us through such a difficult time! We will never forget that! Thank you Father Mark! You are in my prayers and rest in peace! Frank Barbati

We met Fr. Flynn when he was made pastor of St. Patrick's. We didn't know then that he would become a dear friend and such an inspiration to us in our lives. He truly loved his work and did it better than any priest we have ever met. His homilies were from the heart and he truly believed and in turn helped us believe that God was in control. He was joyful, and witty and reverent at the same time. We could discuss anything with him. He presided at our 50th anniversary and made it very personal and truly a memory that we will treasure always. To say that we will miss him is an understatement. He handled his illness with grace and humor, never showing us how concerned he might be. We will miss him desperately because we truly believe there will never be another like him. He had a calling and fulfilled it with true love for people and for his savior. We know we will see him again and he will greet us with that same smile and joyful greeting--"Hello children".

I credit Father Mark for bringing me back to the Church. His kind words, smiles, and his special recognition of each member of the congregation as we received Holy Communion made everyone who knew him feel blessed. Thank you, Father Mark.

Although his time with us at St. Bridget was much too short he made an impact on so many of us. He was a wonderful priest, had a good sense of humor and as others have said he could deliver a powerful homily. We will miss him greatly.
Sincere condolences to his sister and his entire family.

Maryellen, I knew him before he was Fr Mark. I knew him in high school when he wanted just one prom before launching his life in the priesthood. I remember a car full of his high school pals dropping him off at St Thomas to begin realizing his dream. He was always special to me with his red cheeks and good humor. Even though I never experienced his gifts as a priest, I always felt a connection and believed that any person so committed to a purpose would follow it well. Thank you for taking care of him on behalf of all of the people who loved him. My thoughts are with you.

Father Mark was with us at St. Bridget's for only a short time, but he is greatly missed. He once said in a homily that ever since he was a small boy, he had only wanted to be a priest and to serve God, and he certainly did that wonderfully well.

We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Fr. Mark. Although we knew him for such a short time, he made a great impression with his laughter and his voice! He knew how to give homilies! The parish of St. Bartholomew won't be the same with out him.

We only had Fr Mark for a short time at St Bridget Church, but I for one miss him. As I told him more than once, "Father, you give great homilies.". He had a great sense of humor and managed to smile or laugh at the vagaries of life. Rest in peace Father Mark and enjoy the heaven God planned for you. You deserve all of it.

He only spent a year or so with us at St Bridget before being diagnosed, but we miss him. As I told him on more than one occasion, "Father, you give great homilies.". He had a wonderful sense of humor and always seemed to be able to smile or laugh at the vagaries of life. Rest in peace Father Mark. You deserve the joy God has planned for you.
