MUCHA, Mark R.

Mark R. Mucha, 55, of East Hartford, loving husband of 27 years to Kathleen "Kathy" (Lyons) Mucha, passed away peacefully at his home with his family at his side on Tuesday, (March 12, 2013). Born in New Britain, the son of Ida (Nelson) Mucha of New Britain and the late Stanley Mucha, he grew up and lived in New Britain before moving to East Hartford 21 years ago. He was a graduate of Pulaski High School, Class of 1976. In high school, Mark played football, baseball and tennis. Mark had also served in the U. S. Marine Corps from 1976 to 1980. He was a graphic designer at Creative Graphic Services in Newington for 24 years. Mark enjoyed nature, exploring new places and just going on drives in the country with his wife. He had a great sense of humor and loved to tell jokes. He enjoyed sailing, listening to music, going to the ocean, cooking and family get togethers. Mark and Kathy enjoyed traveling and they have visited Europe and the Caribbean. In addition to his wife and his mother, Mark is survived by two sisters, Christine Sherman and her husband Robert of Holliston, MA, and Susan Cisz and her husband Edward of Southington; two nephews, Tyler Owens and Zachary Stone; three nieces, Kaitlin Pagano and her husband Todd and Allison Cisz and Alexis Stolarun; his aunt, Carolyn Mucha and cousins, Thomas Mucha, Ronald Mucha and Corin Wilkinson; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Evelyn Lyons of South Windsor; two sisters-in-law, Karen Lyons and Carolyn Stone, and his beloved dog and companion, Annie.
His family will receive friends for memorial calling hours on Sunday, March 17, 2013 from 1-4 p.m. at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury on Monday, March 18, 2013 at 11 a.m. with military honors.
