MAZNIO, Martin C.
Martin C. Maznio, born in Hartford on December 21, 1927 and lived most of his life in Rocky Hill. Predeceased by his wife of 55 years Rita Langevin Maznio, his parents Michael and Julia Maznio and brother Michael A. Maznio. A graduate of Hartford Public in 1944 thereafter enlisting with the US Coast Guard as a Merchant Seaman. He worked many jobs throughout his life including a milkman for AC Peterson Dairy, debit salesman for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, dispatcher for Amerada Hess, Permittee of Reds Mill Durham, driver-salesman for Sealtest, and occasional painter and bartender. He played many sports throughout high school and went onto play football with local Hartford and New Britain semi-pro leagues. He loved the shore, swimming, fishing, and gardening and had a fondness for dogs. He is survived by his daughter Roxanne Smietana and husband Walter Smietana of Wethersfield, son Michael Maznio and wife Nancy Maznio of Rocky Hill, four grandchildren, Michael J. Maznio of Rocky Hill, William Maznio of Middletown, Mathew Smietana of Wethersfield and Stephanie Smietana of Montezuma CO.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 6th at 11AM inside Rose Hill Memorial Park in Rocky Hill, CT. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Protectors of Animals 144 Main St. P.O. Box 24 East Hartford, CT.
