Mary Wilson Obituary

Mary Elizabeth (Fitzgerald) Wilson, 73, of Manchester and formerly of East Hartford, loving wife of over 51 years to the late James H. Wilson, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 23, 2013 surrounded by her caring family at her home. Born in Hartford on February 10, 1940, a daughter of the late William J. and Rita (Loiseau) Fitzgerald, she had resided in East Hartford for most of her life prior to moving to Manchester seven months ago. Mary was a graduate of East Hartford High School, Class of 1958 and had been employed for many years by the State of Connecticut-Health Department in Hartford, retiring as a Senior Clerk. Mary enjoyed solving cross-word puzzles, playing bingo, and playing cards with her late husband, James. Mary was a devoted and dedicated wife and mother, but most of all she was a proud grandmother who loved spending time with her grandchildren. Mary is survived by her three children, Marie R. O'Brien and her husband, Ed, of South Windsor, Rob Wilson and his wife, Carleen, of Manchester, and Amy E. Wilson of Vernon; seven special grandchildren, Eric O'Brien and his wife, Amie, of Tolland, Steven Crispim of Andover, Alison O'Brien of San Diego, CA, Jennifer Wilson of Andover, Ashley O'Brien and Jonathan O'Brien both of South Windsor, and Joshua Wilson of Andover; and one adored great-granddaughter, Kayla O'Brien of Tolland. She also leaves four brothers, Robert Fitzgerald and his wife, Donna, of Farmington, Kenneth Fitzgerald and his wife, Sharon, of East Hartford, Dennis Fitzgerald and his wife, Patricia, of Vernon, David Fitzgerald and his wife, Karen, of East Hartford; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Funeral services will be Tuesday (November 26th) at 10:30 am at the D'ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Burial will follow at Silver Lane Cemetery, (Section E), East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Monday (November 25th) from 5-8 pm. Mary was indeed a friend and coworker. Her skills and ideas were always for the enhancement of DPH. She retired much to early and left a void in our hearts.

I worked with your mother many years ago and we never had one day without having a good laugh and she always talked about her family. My prayers are with your family. And I am smiling in rememberance of our days together.
