Maurice "Moe" Lambert

Let us rejoice for the life of Maurice J. Lambert, who completed his earthly journey of 92 years on Sunday, December 22, 2013, to join his beloved wife, Geri, in eternal life. Their embodiment of total selflessness is treasured by their children Linda Kenney, Sue Anne Lambert, Maurice (Maury) Lambert Jr, Arthur Lambert, and especially Anita Lambert, who has devoted her life in the loving care of her parents. Maurice was born in Princeville, Quebec, Canada in 1921, to Maria Labbe and Arthur Lambert, and moved to CT at a young age. He operated Lambert's Auto Upholstery Service until his retirement in 1984. "Moe" served in the European Theater during World War II, landing in France on D-Day, and was in Berlin at the end of the war. He was discharged from the U.S. Army, Military Police in 1946 with the rank of Staff Sergeant. In addition to his 5 children, Maurice is survived by son-in-law Vincent Kenney, 5 grandchildren: Anne-Marie Kenney, Lee-Anne LaFleur, her husband Raymond, Ryan Kenny, Jennifer Zocco and Kimberly Zocco; 3 great-grandchildren: Trey, Jaylen and Nyah LaFleur, and sisters Therese, Lucille, Beatrice and Marie Claire. He is pre-deceased by his parents, and siblings Antoinette, Delia, Julliette, Roger, Grace, Irene and Paul. Maurice's life will be celebrated with a funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, 1747 Poquonock Ave, Windsor, Saturday, December 28th, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be private. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Military Family Association, 2500 North Van Dorn Street, Suite 102, Alexandria, VA 22302, www.MilitaryFamily.org or a charity of the donor's choice. Maurice is remembered for his big smile and generous heart, always ready to help someone in need. When his beloved wife passed from this earth, Maurice was asked if he saw her in his dreams. His response was "no, but if I do, I'll give her a big hug and never let her go". At last, together forever.
